Does anyone know of an L-Arginine FREE protein powder? Every protein shake powder i find has L-arginine in it, does any compnay make one specifically without L-arginine?

muscleman210 replied: "It is one of the most common amino acids, made in the body in small amounts normally. Why are you worried about it? Need more info."

ihave been using l-Arginine powder? 4a month and a half.I used 10 grams daily i have discontinuied the use and i have noticed a significant decrease in my erectile functions is this a permanant side effcet

buckateers replied: "no, arginine is a vasodilator, its the main ingredient in NO2 supplements. It makes getting an erection easier and firmer due to increase blood flow, like a poor man's cilas. I have used NO2 and Cilas for working out, and never suffered any side effects when coming off. The only thing that would impact erections and sex drive would be a high androgenic steriod."

Amino L-arginine and red wine extract when mixed, produce what chem reaction? I dissolved red wine extract in water and the solution was red, of course. Add a little powdered white amino L-arginine and voila, it turns copper sulfate blue. Thank God I didn't drink it. What reaction is that?? It did remind me of litmus paper. So that's it! Very cool. That could be downright useful if you want to know the ph of your food -- though tasting it probably works as well.

oldtimekid2 replied: "It's actually not Copper Sulfate at all... if nothing else, there's not enough Copper or Sulfur to make the color. The Anthocyanidins in the Red Wine are natural pigment agents that can easily change color with certain pH levels... you'll see the same type of color change if you make apple muffins without peeling the apples. When the Anthocyanidins are exposed to more of an Alkaline pH level, they turn more of a blue/green color... that's why baked goods with certain fruits (Cranberries, for example) add extra acids (like Vinegar or oranges, for example) so you don't see that color change. It's perfectly natural and safe to take."

Hi I am first time pregnant, 29 weeks. Doc has advised to take L-arginine, does anyone know about this ? Hi I am 29 weeks pregnant and doc has advised me to take L-arginine and proanthocyanidin granules (powder) for fetal well being. But I found varying reports on net. Did anyone take this medicine or ever heard about it ? Moreover I recently had an ultrasound where the baby was in breech position. DOc said it is too early to worry about position, but still we are little preplexed. When should the baby take head down position normally ? Please help.

shanoo m replied: "!!!!!!!!!! Arginine (abbreviated as Arg or R)[1] is an α-amino acid. The L-form is one of the 20 most common natural amino acids. Its codons are CGU, CGC, CGA, CGG, AGA, and AGG. In mammals, arginine is classified as a semiessential or conditionally essential amino acid, depending on the developmental stage and health status of the individual. Infants are unable to meet their requirements and thus arginine is nutritionally essential for infants. Arginine was first isolated from a lupin seedling extract in 1886 by the Swiss chemist Ernst Schultze.u can add me in ym as"

Is It safe to take L-Carnitine and L-Arginine pills for a male under 18? I currently work out almost everyday. I lift some weights and do a lot of cardio-activity. I have a balanced diet, and eat a lot of protein from meats, nuts, soy, and protein powder. I notice some muscle defnintion but not nearly as much as I should. I have considered taking the L-Arginine and L-Carnitine supplements to help enhance muscle definition; IS THIS SAFE FOR SOMEONE under 18 (161/2-17)? I NEED SOME SERIOUS ADVICE.

King Rao replied: "These are simple amino's and pose no threat when used in moderation."

Cheryl replied: "Check out this web site. The licensed Doctors on this site can advise you. "

J Balla replied: "oh ya, you are definitely safe. those two are pretty much in the same category as vitamins. your completely safe. however, dont expect to see any big gains with that stuff. those are mainly used to just keep healthy. if you still insist on going with these supplements, i suggest a BCAA. no this isnt anything serious, it stands for Branched Chain Amino Acids. Amino acids are kind of like the nutrients that you get out of protein that help with muscle growth. Like, vitamins for your muscles. I suggest that you go with that. personally, i dont think highly of L-Arganine. Its kind of a joke. but i wont go into that. If you ever want to step it up a bit, i would say your next adventure should be with NO-Xplode or Superpump 250. Both of these are really good beginner supplements that anyone can see some gains from. good luck, and happy lifting!"

silverbullet replied: "Probably safe enough, although a small protein snack right after lifting would be just as effective and cheaper. Most people in America, athletes included, get far more protein than they need in their regular diet. The only difference for body builders would be timing of the intake. See below."

What is a appropriate amount of L arginine for a 15 year old male? I'm very active and have been recently experimenting with different protein powders and I was just curious if anyone new. I'm currently taking a protein powder with 620 mg of it in one serving FACTS ONLY

Silverbullet replied: "Facts: like most supplements, there's nothing in it that you wouldn't get out of a cheeseburger or a glass of milk."

Bodybuilders and Weightlifters: How much L-arginine do you supplement with daily? I bought some 1000 mg tablets at walgreens, it says take 1 to 3 daily, but my protein powder also has branch chain amino acids in it, and I hear taking too much can upset your stomach. What is a pretty good amount, in Mg per day?

Karpenisi_Ted replied: "I believe I took about 300 mg a day becuase it was too expensive. I also took powdered Glutamine. Since you drink protein shakes - I would stick to one tablet before your workout (with your shake)."

stone cold replied: "you forgot about roddy piper and ric flair...they should have topped your list of all time heels"

bignate replied: "so your big marcus now huh ? i wish you could hear the room laughing right now"

Can L-Arginine or L-Glutamine test positive for Cocaine? I used to work out a lot a few months ago and I would take arginine alphta-ketoglurate, arginine, and a preworkout drink (all in the form of white powder), prior to work out, and protein shake and glutamine (the glutamine in white powder as well) after the workout. My workout was normally done at college campus after my classes, so I would take a scoop of each of these with me. The easiest way was to put them in empty orange medicine bottles. I was pulled over by police officers for a traffic violation yesterday, and they decided to search my vehicle. They stumbled upon these bottles which were empty for the most part, but still had some remaining residue. The contents of one bottle tested positive for cocaine and I was taken to jail. I have never even seen cocoaine in my life and there's no way possible that it actually was. Its not possible that anyone else may have put it there either. Now my question is: Is there anyway possible of any of these substances may have field tested positive for cocaine? In other words, may any of the substances have reacted with the reagent to indicate a false positive for the presence of cocaine? It was one of those field testing kis (I beleive C-Pak) that turns the cutip blue when cocaine is present. I asked one of the workers at the vitamin shoppe, and he said that he has heard that the A-AKG (arginine alpha-ketoglurate) in particular may do that, or something of the sort. Thank you in advance for all of your help. Here are the products: - ARGININE ALPHA-KETOGLUTARATE (2:1) (made by olympian labs) - L-ARGININE HCL - L-GLUTAMINE (Free form powder)

bobby d replied: "Wow ... I've never heard that. Well, they should have kept the containers as evidence, and when they are tested in a lab and not just field tested, they should figure that out."
